In the context of the exhibition die Wissen<\/em>, Hiwa K invites you to Stories from the Blindspot<\/em>. In his video Pre-Image (Blind as the Mother Tongue)<\/em>, he retraces a route that has been crucial in the circulation of cultures. Many people have been taking this route as the artist himself from Kurdistan (Iraq) to Europe. With a mirror sculpture balanced on his nose, he moves through landscapes until he reaches Rome. To navigate this path via the multiple perspectives that the small mirrors show from above becomes a highly corporeal and mental balancing act. A pluralized bird\u2019s-eye view, so to speak, whose verticality must be established with great effort in the horizontal motion of walking. A self that is not a closed entity but through which many bodies, many stories and the perspectives of different people and generations flow and that narrates these experiences with the voice and body.<\/p>\n

On September 26, you can meet with Hiwa K at the TAXISPALAIS and listen to his stories and jokes in person.<\/p>\n
