The performance photographs and sculptures have in common that they abandon the beaten tracks of remembrance, mourning, and commemoration rituals practiced in the so-called West. Riskier connections with the dead are instead established. These precarious relationships she builds conceive of a circle of ancestors and family members that extends far beyond that of Western common sense, resulting in a community with a broader vision of radical solidarity. How do we want to live in a community of the living and the dead? What if we were to engage with a logic that conceives no distinct before and after, no beginning or end, but allows instead for links of ensoulment? And how do these questions relate to the topic of \u201cwitches\u201d? The artist Esther Strau\u00df and the curator of the exhibition, Nina Tabassomi, will debate these questions in a conversation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Free entry and for taking part in the WITCH TALKS a 3-G document and FFP2 mask is required.
